This album represents a milestone in the consolidation of the Brazilian Lo-Fi scene.
Always aiming to boost the growing wave of productions of the genre, Tangerina Music label has opened submissions for the work of musicians and beatmakers from all over the country. Titled “Chill Brazilian Storm 4: Bossa Nova Beats”, the compilation will be released on all platforms on Friday, October 21st, 2022.
Altogether, more than 60 productions went through the pre-selection and curation process. The result is a collection of 17 songs, completely original, blending relaxing electronic beats with a plural and irresistible taste of Brazilianness. Among those selected are artists from the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Ceará, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
By browsing through the tracks of the album it is possible to find clear references of Hip-Hop in total harmony with other musical styles. From samba to forró, passing through bossa-nova, the collection has the participation of 22 artists in total. Among them are some of the main prominent names of national Lo-Fi, such as Linearwave, middt, Epifania, FaOut, IzaBeats, Ricardo Schneider, Lofi Land, Geezmo, among others. In all, this collective of producers adds up to more than 20 million plays per month on streaming platforms.
The post-production of the album has received a special touch. The cover art was signed by the artist and designer Paula Botelho, the videos were made by Brains N’ Butter, while the mixing and mastering was done by the renowned producer ”2F”, who has worked with stars such as Will.I.am, Snoop Dogg, Anitta, Xamã, MV Bill, Ludmilla, L7nnon and Seu Jorge. Besides making the final adjustments, 2F also participates as one of the record’s beatmakers.
This is the fourth volume of the “Chill Brazilian Storm” collection. For the compilation’s co-creator, this album represents “a celebration of the beautiful work that has been done and at the same time it is a way for the whole world to see that there is a flourishing and organized scene of the genre in Brazil”, said Fábio Bittencourt (aka FaOut), creator of the Tangerina Music label.
Since the first edition of the album, released in April 2021, all the albums has already reached over 8 million streams across all digital platforms. In its fourth edition, “Bossa Nova Beats” is the continuation of the project that aims to give even more visibility to the growing Brazilian Lo-Fi scene.
